The Secretariat and School of Leaders are closely linked. The Secretariat is formed by members of the School of Leaders. The Secretariat serves the life of the Cursillo Movement by directing, coordinating, promoting, and carrying out the Albany Diocese Cursillo Movement Pastoral Plan. 

The Secretariat is responsible for ensuring the Cursillo method is fostered by overseeing the Cursillo structures, as well as for assisting and promoting the life of the School of Leaders to ensure proper operation and implementation of the three phases which are Precursillo, Cursillo, and Postcursillo.
